A project conceived by Peter Hooten, and jumped at by the artist-fan of the poet, is beset along its course by a thousand obstacles. But the challenge is there: What is a volcano on paper? Can I hear a waterfall loud enough to paint it? And “heaven's masquerades,” will they collaborate for my drawing?
