"Siderium Exaltatum (Starry Venusweed)"
by Rosanna Warren

Tapering to char
the wicks seek consummation
beyond the body:
one roused from ovaries of light,
one from a dying star.

This poem was written to title and accompany the painting in the book
Another Language of Flowers (New York: George Braziller 1998).
